πΌ Purpose of the Role
The Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the financial services industry. You will be responsible for promoting Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products, increasing market share, and providing high-quality financial advice to clients in a branch setting. The role requires sound financial knowledge, strong customer service, and the ability to create cross-selling opportunities.
π Key Responsibilities

Sales Delivery
- π Product Knowledge: Develop an in-depth understanding of SRMβs product ranges to recommend the best solutions to clients.
- π Client Needs Analysis: Understand the clientβs financial goals and provide appropriate products that will help them achieve their objectives.
- π‘ Ongoing Product Updates: Continuously inform clients about new products or changes to existing products and adjust their portfolios accordingly.
- β Business Submission: Submit new business through the proper channels while ensuring all product and regulatory requirements are met.
- π¨ Risk Management: Conduct due diligence on clients to identify risks and ensure appropriate actions are taken.

Client Service & Retention
- π Manage Client Profiles: Regularly follow up with clients, manage payment reminders, and ensure clients remain satisfied with the services offered.
- π NTU Management: Track clients who have not taken up policies (NTUs) and take corrective actions to ensure successful conversions.
- π€ Customer Support: Address client queries and provide support in person or escalate issues to the relevant stakeholders as needed.
- π‘οΈ Client Risk Profiling: Proactively identify client needs, offer support, and adjust payment arrangements when necessary.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Development
- π Compliance Adherence: Ensure all activities are in line with regulatory standards, including proper record-keeping and risk management.
- π§ Ongoing Learning: Stay updated with industry standards, product knowledge, and relevant training programs, including CPD points.
- π Fraud Prevention: Identify any potential fraudulent activity and escalate where necessary.
- π Reporting: Maintain proper records of advice, activities, and reports as required by the management and compliance teams.

Monthly Planning & Reporting
- π Activity Reporting: Use technology platforms to track daily activities and report on performance against set targets.
- π Timely Reporting: Meet deadlines for weekly and monthly reporting and assist the Retail Branch Manager with ad-hoc requirements.
π Qualifications & Experience
- π Matric (Grade 12)
- π§βπΌ RE5 Certification β A must
- π FAIS Compliance (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements
- π Class of Business Training β To be completed within 12 months of employment
- π CPD Hours β Maintain ongoing professional development
- πΌ Experience: Minimum of 1 year in sales, marketing, or customer service. Experience in an insurance branch environment is a plus.
