Job Overview

The Branch Manager will drive branch performance by leading a team of Sales Consultants, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining compliance, and delivering an exceptional client experience. The role involves developing branch strategy, achieving sales targets, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing day-to-day branch operations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the retail branch strategy to grow customer base and revenue.

  • Lead and integrate Sales Consultants’ activities to align with the branch strategy.

  • Promote a service-oriented culture internally and externally for optimal client experience.

  • Manage daily branch operations, including sales delivery, staff management, and compliance.

  • Ensure operational excellence in risk management, quality control, and service standards.

  • Oversee HR functions for direct reports: performance management, talent development, grievance resolution, leave allocation, and capacity planning.

  • Conduct monthly sales and service reporting and business planning.

  • Identify and engage key internal and external stakeholders to strengthen relationships.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Matric (Grade 12) required.

  • RE1 and RE5 licenses.

  • 120 Wealth Management credits OR tertiary qualification recognized by FSCA.

  • Class of Business accreditation (annual).

  • CPD compliance for current and past cycles.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years industry experience, 3 years in leadership roles.

  • Service management experience essential.

  • Insurance sales and credit/lending experience.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Sales tactics, customer engagement, and stakeholder management.

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, policies, and insurance products.

  • People management, business acumen, and project management.

  • Computer literacy and data analytics.

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication.

  • Ability to motivate teams, organise work, and adapt to change.

  • Resilient, goal-driven, and able to exceed targets.
