Role Overview

DSV is seeking a skilled and driven Branch Manager: Operations (Road) to join our dynamic Cape Town team. This role demands a professional who can lead staff, optimize service delivery, manage budgets, and align branch operations with DSV’s strategic objectives.

You will be accountable for the branch’s financial performance, client satisfaction, service delivery standards, and operational efficiency. This is a high-impact leadership position that plays a key role in DSV’s commitment to excellence and innovation in logistics.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of strategic objectives through effective communication and motivation.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with shared services and other branches.

  • Manage operational performance and meet key delivery targets.

  • Control costs, productivity, and profitability within the branch.

  • Drive client retention through exceptional service and relationship management.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, KPIs, quality standards, and local legislation.

  • Analyze service failures and implement corrective action plans.

  • Manage branch resources, fleet maintenance, and operational risk effectively.

  • Uphold Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) standards.

  • Ensure vehicles (leased, owned, or outsourced) are roadworthy and compliant.

  • Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting.

  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and staff development.


Minimum Requirements

  • Education: BCom in Transport & Logistics (advantageous)

  • Experience: 5+ years in logistics or courier industry in a managerial role

  • Tech Skills: Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel (pivot tables & formulas), PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook

  • Knowledge:

    • Solid understanding of P&L, LRA, and BCEA

    • Budgeting and cost forecasting

    • Sales, HR, and industrial relations skills

  • Other Requirements:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication

    • Time management and planning skills

    • Flexibility to travel

    • Own reliable transport and valid Code 8 license
