Job Overview
PPS Healthcare Administrators is seeking a dynamic Business Analyst to join its System Support and Development team. This role focuses on claims within the medical aid administration space, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams. The successful candidate will drive system enhancements, improve workflows, and ensure efficient claims processing while maintaining compliance and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise between business units, IT teams, and external stakeholders
- Present findings and influence decision-making
- Manage expectations across cross-functional teams
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and elicitation sessions
- Translate requirements into functional specifications
Data & Technical Analysis
- Use SQL, Excel, and Power BI for data analysis and reporting
- Develop dashboards and insights to support decision-making
- Collaborate with IT teams on system enhancements
Process Optimisation
- Map current processes and design improved workflows
- Identify inefficiencies in claims, membership, and finance processes
- Recommend and implement process improvements
Change Management & Training
- Support system changes and user adoption
- Develop training materials and guide users through transitions
- Ensure smooth implementation of new tools and processes
Qualifications
Education
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, IT, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in business analysis, projects, or implementation
- Experience in healthcare or medical aid administration (advantageous)
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Power BI
- Knowledge of healthcare systems (e.g., MIP, Epic, Cerner, HL7)
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project)
- Process modelling skills (Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Strong adaptability and emotional intelligence
