Role Overview: Business Engineer
As a Business Engineer at Capitec Bank, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s strategy by enhancing the organization’s capabilities through business process architecture solutions. You will be responsible for translating business needs into actionable requirements, supporting revenue growth initiatives, and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Business Process Architecture & Requirements:
You will be responsible for providing business process architecture solutions at the enterprise level. This includes translating business requirements into solutions for various Capitec Business Units.
💡 Revenue Growth Initiatives:
Support and drive initiatives aimed at improving business performance and driving new revenue streams.
🔄 Continuous Improvement:
Post-project, you will focus on driving continuous improvement in business operations, ensuring the effective realization of business benefits and achieving strategic objectives.
📊 Business Requirements & Change Management:
Translate project, system, and business changes into actionable business requirements. You will also help design and implement change management plans, policies, procedures, and performance measures to ensure smooth transitions.
📈 Project Implementation & Management:
Take charge of implementing projects and initiatives that improve business processes, leveraging methodologies such as Lean, Agile, and Six Sigma.
Key Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

Education:
🎓 Grade 12 National Certificate/Vocational -
Experience:
💼 10+ years of experience in enterprise-wide business design, development, improvement, or product design, with a strong focus on complex, analytical roles. -
Skills:
- Business Process Modelling: Expertise in frameworks such as IDEF-0, BPMN, Financial Modelling, Enterprise Architect.
- Methodologies: Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, and Agile practices.
- Change Management & Project Management: Strong understanding of Business Change Life Cycle, Risk & Issue Management, and Project Management Lifecycles.
- Commercial & Strategic Thinking: Ability to map out business needs, develop business cases, and contribute to the development of operating models and product frameworks.
- Client Experience Mapping: Create detailed client journey maps to improve user experiences.
Ideal (Preferred) Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge in system development, financial modelling, and supply chain methodologies.
- Expertise in developing business architecture and supporting banking transactional processes.
