Job Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst II role is a hands-on, technical analytics position focused on transforming large, complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that influence business strategy and operational performance.

In this role, you will work across the full data lifecycle—from data preparation and modelling to visualisation and insight delivery—while engaging closely with business stakeholders. You will independently drive analytics initiatives, applying advanced BI techniques to solve real business challenges and unlock measurable value.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities

• Translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and insights

• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports

• Apply BI methods and analytics techniques to support strategic priorities

• Work with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure

• Develop and optimise SQL queries for data preparation and analysis

• Support data quality, integrity, and incident management processes

• Engage stakeholders to understand analytical needs and deliver value

• Apply dimensional modelling principles and data product lifecycle practices

• Contribute to agile analytics projects from concept through delivery

Requirements

Education

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field

Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or Data Analyst

• Proven experience in BI tools, data analytics, and data warehousing

• Experience quantifying and delivering business value through data

• Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms (AWS or Microsoft Azure)

• Experience building data visualisations using Power BI

• Strong SQL skills for data preparation and analysis

• Experience working with Salesforce data

Knowledge

• Low/no-code AutoML tools (e.g. Power BI AutoML, AWS SageMaker – basic exposure)

• Design thinking principles

• Dimensional modelling techniques

• Data Product Life Cycle (DPLC)

• Data privacy, security, and governance best practices

• Data quality management and incident handling

• Agile project management methodologies

Advantageous

• Previous experience in the banking or financial services sector

• Knowledge of change management principles and practices
