JOB OVERVIEW

The Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for building analytical insights that solve complex business and client challenges. The role focuses on transforming data into value by enabling senior decision-makers to make faster, informed decisions through advanced analytics, visualisation, and data modelling across the full data product life cycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse complex datasets to generate actionable insights that drive business value

  • Apply BI methodologies and analytical techniques to solve client and operational challenges

  • Engage stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions

  • Design, develop, and maintain data visualisations and dashboards using Power BI

  • Prepare, analyse, and transform data using SQL

  • Work with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure

  • Support dimensional modelling and data warehousing initiatives

  • Apply Design Thinking principles to data-driven problem solving

  • Contribute to data quality, privacy, security, and incident management processes

  • Participate in agile project delivery across the data product life cycle

QUALIFICATIONS

Education (Minimum)

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field

Experience (Minimum)

  • At least 4 years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or equivalent (e.g. Data Analyst)

  • Proven experience in data analytics, BI tools, data warehousing, and the data life cycle

  • Experience in identifying and delivering measurable business value using data

  • Stakeholder engagement and requirement-gathering experience

  • Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS or Microsoft Azure)

  • Experience building dashboards and visualisations using Power BI

  • Strong SQL skills for data preparation and analysis

Knowledge (Minimum)

  • Low/no-code AutoML tools (e.g. Power BI, AWS SageMaker)

  • Dimensional modelling and data product life cycle (DPLC)

  • Design Thinking principles

  • Data privacy, security, and regulatory best practices

  • Data quality management and incident handling

  • Agile project management methodologies

Ideal Experience

  • Banking sector or financial services experience

  • Knowledge of change management principles and practices

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to translate technical insights into business value

  • Attention to detail and structured thinking
