Job Overview

The Business Optimization Internship is a graduate opportunity based in Cape Town, offering exposure to real-world business transformation initiatives across multiple departments. This role is ideal for graduates with an interest in process engineering, automation, data analytics, and continuous improvement.

The internship provides the opportunity to apply engineering and analytical thinking to optimise workflows, automate processes, and enable data-driven decision-making. High-performing interns may be considered for a permanent role upon successful completion of the programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with business leaders to document current processes and identify inefficiencies
• Identify and analyse opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Develop actionable improvement plans in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Execute process optimisation initiatives with cross-functional teams
• Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables
• Monitor, analyse, and report on key performance metrics
• Design and implement automated solutions to improve business efficiency
• Support the rollout of new tools and process improvements across the organisation
• Train team members on optimised processes and automation solutions
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Support change management initiatives related to process and system enhancements
• Collaborate across departments to scale and standardise business processes
• Learn and apply tools such as SQL, Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
• Gain exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and API integrations

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering

Experience

• Entry-level or graduate candidates encouraged to apply
• Exposure to business processes, automation, or analytics is advantageous

Skills

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI (advantageous)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
