AECOM is seeking a Candidate Engineer – Stormwater to join the Enterprise Capabilities (EC) Water Resources Team in Centurion, Durban, or Bellville. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer (0–4 years experience) looking to contribute to hydrological, hydraulic, and stormwater engineering projects across Africa and globally.


πŸ”§ Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrological analyses for storm rainfall and catchment runoff

  • Perform hydraulic design for stormwater systems, culverts, and flood control structures

  • Design sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS)

  • Prepare project specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documents

  • Support stormwater master planning and flood risk assessments

  • Use modelling tools like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, PCSWMM, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS


πŸ“˜ Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 0–4 years of experience in stormwater or water resources engineering

  • Proficient in hydrological and hydraulic software tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects

  • Experience in detailed stormwater design for roads, bridges, culverts, and urban systems

  • Exposure to international design codes and standards

  • Familiarity with sustainable drainage principles and environmental compliance
