We are currently looking for a skilled Cashbook Clerk to join our Finance Unit and help manage key financial functions within the organization.
What You Can Look Forward To
📈 Finance Operations
- Maintain the cashbook by capturing entries, preparing premium, and claims interface files.
- Process invoices, prepare creditor reconciliations, and ensure proper allocation of expenses, including VAT compliance.
- Extract vendor lists and ensure all invoices are paid in full, investigating any discrepancies in reconciliations.
🔄 Financial Reporting & Reconciliation
- Process journals, capture them in the system, and ensure valid supporting documentation is attached.
- Prepare reconciliations for fixed assets, provisions, liabilities, and debtor accounts.
- Generate monthly financial comparisons for management, providing insightful analysis of financial trends.
📊 Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal team members and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Engage with auditors, providing all required documentation for internal and external audits to maintain compliance.
🔍 Audit & Internal Controls
- Maintain strong internal controls and proper document management to support audit processes.
- Ensure full compliance with financial policies and procedures to meet corporate and regulatory standards.
What We’re Looking For
📚 Qualifications & Experience
- An undergraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a similar business degree.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the short-term insurance or reinsurance industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Advanced), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP (preferred).
💡 Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to critically assess and review your own work.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to distill and communicate complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
🌍 Language Skills
- Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is essential for this role.
