Role Overview
The Cashier serves as the key point of contact for customers at the checkout. This role requires exceptional customer service, accurate transaction handling, and the ability to maintain a clean, organised, and efficient checkout environment. Beyond processing payments, the Cashier contributes to customer experience, assists with stock awareness, and supports store operations, including meal service preparation when required.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Transaction Processing

Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and professionally.

Handle various payment methods in accordance with company policies.

Issue receipts promptly and ensure correct recording of all sales.

Provide friendly, helpful service to enhance the customer experience.
Cash Handling & Administration

Assist with daily float preparation and end-of-shift cash reconciliation.

Report any discrepancies, concerns, or unusual activity immediately.

Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold Tsebo’s standards.
Operational Support
-
Maintain a clean, organised cashier station at all times.

Monitor stock levels at the checkout and report shortages.

Support team members during peak operational periods.

Assist with receiving and checking deliveries when required.

Report equipment malfunctions or operational issues promptly.
Compliance & Hygiene
-
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene procedures.

Comply with all regulatory and company standards.

Ensure professionalism and adherence to Tsebo policies at all times.
Qualifications

Matric / Grade 12 (Required)
-
Previous experience as a Cashier is strongly recommended
