Job Overview
The Cook – B&I will prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals in a professional catering environment.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about cooking, attentive to hygiene standards, and able to work efficiently in a structured team setting where meals directly impact client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
🍽 Food Preparation & Service

Prepare and cook meals according to set menus and dietary requirements.

Ensure meals are attractively presented and served on time.
🧼 Hygiene & Safety

Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards.

Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with regulations.
📦 Stock & Kitchen Support

Assist with stock rotation and proper food storage.

Support kitchen organisation and daily operational flow.
📋 Menu Assistance

Assist with meal planning and adapt recipes for special dietary needs.
🤝 Teamwork & Client Interaction

Work collaboratively with the catering team.

Maintain positive and professional interactions when required.
Qualifications
🎓 Education
-
Matric (Grade 12).

Culinary qualification (advantageous).
💼 Experience
-
1–2 years’ experience in a similar Cook or Chef role.

Experience in catering, hospitality, or care environments preferred.
🧠 Skills

Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations (Food Safety Certificate advantageous).

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Good communication skills.
