Chapter Lead – People Development Manager (Remote, Permanent) – Global Client

This is a remote, permanent role offering you the chance to play a pivotal part in building capability, career growth, and leadership across multiple regions.

About the Role

As the Chapter Lead, you will sit at the intersection of people, practice, and performance, contributing to the growth and success of the business by developing individual team members through targeted skills development and career management. This position is vital to ensuring high-quality people leadership, driving delivery excellence, and enhancing team capability across projects.

This role does not directly deliver project outcomes but focuses on empowering and enabling others to succeed. You’ll work closely with functional leaders, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and the People team to enhance employee experiences, foster continuous improvement, and lead strategic people initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Management & Leadership:

    • Run regular career check-ins and 1:1s with chapter members.

    • Support wellbeing, personal growth, and career advancement.

    • Build trust through coaching and feedback.

    • Manage employment lifecycle activities (onboarding, probation, performance documentation).

    • Escalate and resolve people-related challenges effectively.

  • Skills Development & Capability Building:

    • Identify skill gaps and lead initiatives to close them.

    • Work with SMEs and Heads of Departments to define and maintain high standards of capability.

    • Develop and implement staff skill roadmaps.

  • Career Development & Progression:

    • Drive meaningful career conversations and development plans.

    • Gather feedback and run performance reviews.

    • Make data-driven recommendations for promotions and growth opportunities.

Your Impact

You’ll work across various teams—including Engineering, Product, Design, and Operations—to ensure team members are supported, blockers are removed, and development plans are actionable. You’ll be instrumental in embedding a culture of learning, accountability, and high performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Chapter Lead, Team Lead, or Line Manager.

  • Strong mentoring and coaching abilities.

  • Proficiency in performance management and HR processes.

  • Clear, confident communicator with a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Functional credibility in your domain (e.g., Development, Business Analysis).

  • Experience working in Agile, cross-functional, or matrix environments.

  • Familiarity with multi-region HR practices, particularly across Australia, NZ, South Africa, and the UK.
