Job Overview

Tsebo Catering Solutions is looking for an experienced Chef Manager to oversee and lead culinary operations across multiple food service sites. This role combines hands-on cooking expertise with strategic management, making it ideal for a professional who excels in leadership, financial oversight, and delivering high-quality food services.


Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership

  • Design and implement innovative and seasonal menus
  • Ensure meals meet high standards of taste, presentation, and nutrition
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating consistency

Staff & Site Management

  • Train, supervise, and manage kitchen teams across multiple sites
  • Develop staff rosters and coordinate daily operations
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching
  • Manage the setup and integration of new food service sites

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards in line with regulations
  • Implement and monitor food safety protocols across all sites

Financial Oversight

  • Manage budgets and control food costs effectively
  • Monitor financial performance and margins
  • Analyze cost reports and implement cost-saving strategies

Customer Experience

  • Engage with clients to ensure satisfaction
  • Address feedback and maintain high service standards

Qualifications

Education

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior chef or management role
  • Experience managing multi-site food service operations (advantageous)

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Financial management and budgeting expertise
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
