π οΈ About the Role
WSP is seeking a Junior Traffic and Transportation Engineer to join their Transport & Infrastructure team. Based in either Midrand or Cape Town, this full-time role offers exposure to local and cross-border projects in land development, public infrastructure, and transport planning.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for sustainable transport systems and a deep understanding of traffic impact assessments and infrastructure design.
π§Ύ Key Responsibilities

Conduct and deliver transport impact assessments for land-use developments in SA and across Africa.

Support transport planning projects for clients such as government agencies, developers, and mining corporations.

Contribute to the design of non-motorised transport (NMT) and public transport infrastructure.

Develop and assess traffic signal layouts and timing plans.

Plan and lead traffic and transport field investigations and data interpretation.

Draft high-quality technical reports and proposals.

Liaise with stakeholders and assist in business development efforts.

Promote health, safety, and environmental standards across all project phases.
π Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering.
-
5β10 yearsβ relevant experience.
-
Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA (professional registration preferred).

Valid driverβs license.

Proficiency in:

SIDRA Intersection & Network Analysis
-
VISSIM and EMME (advantageous)
-
Basic CAD/Revit for transport designs.

Strong report writing and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience working in consulting environments across South Africa and internationally.
