🔧 Position Summary:

RINA is looking for an experienced Civil QC professional to join its quality team in the Eastern Cape. This freelance position plays a crucial role in ensuring quality, safety, and compliance on large-scale civil construction projects. You’ll oversee civil works on-site, perform inspections, manage documentation, and enforce standards aligned with national regulations.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

• Implement workplace safety, hygiene, and environmental protection policies

• Monitor and track civil work activities to ensure timely progress

• Assure compliance with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and specs

• Execute and validate quality control tests and documentation

• Detect nonconformities and support in raising NCRs

• Review material certifications and delivery documentation

• Oversee construction teams and subcontractors on civil scope

• Validate site test forms, inspection reports, and punch list closures

• Support design change and nonconformity resolutions during construction

• AutoCAD drafting support as needed

• Attend and report at all progress meetings

• Enforce all health, safety, and environmental requirements on-site

• Daily Inspection Reports

• Site Test Forms & Smart Glass Inspection Tools

• IFC Drawings, Design Specifications, and Quality Procedures

• Delivery Certificates, Qualification Reports, and Punch Lists

🎓 Requirements:

• BSc in Civil Engineering or relevant technical diploma

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Civil QC or similar role

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, MS Project)

• Strong AutoCAD knowledge

• SACPCMP registration is mandatory

• Valid South African Driver’s License

• Comfortable with extended travel and long-term site presence (6–24 months)

• Knowledge of local civil construction codes and QA/QC protocols

• Experience with:

  • Micro piles, grout/concrete control, steelworks

  • Road and earthworks testing

  • Reinforced and pre-stressed concrete

• Able to work day/night shifts including weekends

• Physically able to work in adverse weather conditions and confined spaces
