Job Overview
The Client Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records up to trial balance level and preparing financial statements for trusts, companies, and individuals.
This role also focuses on tax compliance, client reporting, and regulatory requirements, making it ideal for candidates with SAIPA articles and financial services experience.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain client accounts up to trial balance level

Prepare financial statements for trusts and companies

Manage and update entity ledgers

Ensure proper documentation and filing of client agreements

Assist with client reporting and meeting preparation

Handle tax compliance (individuals, trusts, companies)

Prepare local and international tax reports

Liaise with relationship managers and internal teams

Ensure all reporting deadlines are met

Support statutory and regulatory compliance processes
Qualifications
Education
-
BCom Accounting
-
Completion of SAIPA Articles (Professional exam passed)
Experience
-
Experience in a financial services environment
-
Exposure to trusts and company structures
-
Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
Skills
-
Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs
-
Understanding of trusts, investments, and financial statements

Experience with Caseware, Xero, and Microsoft Office

Strong knowledge of tax compliance (SARS requirements)

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
