Job Overview

The Client Coverage Internship Programme offers penultimate-year students the opportunity to gain real-world exposure within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). Interns work alongside experienced bankers, contributing to live client engagements while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills. The programme is designed to prepare high-performing interns for potential full-time graduate roles starting in July 2027.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Relationship Managers with client servicing, account planning, and deal execution

  • Assist in coordinating communication between clients and internal product teams

  • Conduct credit, financial, and industry analysis for client portfolios

  • Participate in structuring financing solutions and monitoring client risk

  • Contribute to presentations, reports, and internal approvals

  • Engage in training sessions, technical seminars, and networking events


Qualifications

Education

  • Penultimate-year undergraduate or postgraduate student

  • Open to all degree disciplines

Experience

  • Strong academic record with evidence of extracurricular involvement

  • No prior banking experience required

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

  • High attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment

  • Permanent legal right to work in South Africa
