We are currently looking for an experienced Clinical Pathologist to join our dedicated team in South Africa. In this role, you will be at the forefront of veterinary diagnostics, providing high-quality interpretations of laboratory results while collaborating with some of the brightest minds in veterinary pathology.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct gross and microscopic examination of clinical pathology specimens

• Deliver timely and detailed pathology reports

• Provide telephone and email consultations to veterinarians and clients

• Collaborate with fellow pathologists and laboratory teams to ensure diagnostic accuracy

• Advise laboratory personnel on best practices for specimen processing

• Engage with clients to build long-term professional relationships

• Participate in quality control programs to maintain laboratory standards

• Stay current by participating in continuing education and professional development

• Take part in non-diagnostic professional activities that benefit IDEXX’s global operations

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent qualification

• Board Certification in Clinical Pathology through:

  • American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), or

  • European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP), or

  • MMedVet (Clinical Pathology) – will also be considered

• Applications from board-eligible candidates are welcome – IDEXX offers full support for board exam preparation

• Strong command of English (spoken and written)

• Knowledge of veterinary clinical medicine and diagnostic procedures

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Computer proficiency, including dictation and report writing systems

• Preference for candidates with prior experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory

• Must be based in South Africa
