Job Summary:
Join Hollard, a leader in the South African insurance industry, as a Cloud DevOps Engineer in Johannesburg. Be part of a multi-disciplinary technology team working closely with customers, software vendors, and partners. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and systems. You’ll manage both internal and third-party cloud platforms and play a critical role in optimizing operational outcomes, implementing automated workflows, and ensuring business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:

✅ Cloud Platform Management: Implement and maintain cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions like Azure Bicep, ARM templates, and PowerShell.

✅ CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery, automate processes, and streamline deployment.

✅ Automation: Use configuration tools and scripting frameworks to automate workflows, from job scheduling to application deployments.

✅ Operational Excellence: Ensure continuous business operations with solutions for backup, recovery, monitoring, and issue resolution.

✅ Risk Management & Continuous Improvement: Assess and manage technical risks, ensure non-functional requirements are met, and focus on feedback loops to drive automation and value delivery.

✅ Collaboration: Work closely with product squads to deliver collective outcomes and support the resolution of application issues.

✅ DevSecOps Advocacy: Promote DevSecOps practices and ensure alignment to enterprise quality assurance standards.
Qualifications & Experience:

✅ Education: Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a related technology field (Preferred).

✅ Certifications: Azure and/or DevOps-related certifications are highly desirable.

✅ Experience:
-
At least 2 years working with Azure cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Experience in Azure Cloud DevOps, PowerShell, and DSC.

Familiarity with CI/CD processes, Azure DevOps, and Agile methodologies.

Strong knowledge of system integrations, API management, and file transfer.

Experience with local data center management, security, and vulnerability management.
