We are now hiring a Construction Worker (m/f/d) to join our passionate team at LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary in Bethlehem, South Africa.

About the Role

As a Construction Worker, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on building and maintaining safe, secure, and enriching environments for our big cats and other animals. This role is perfect for someone with hands-on construction skills and a deep commitment to animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Construction Tasks: Execute construction work orders and assignments efficiently within the Construction Team.

  • Enclosure Maintenance: Maintain and erect animal enclosures, with a particular focus on fencing, gates, and safety features.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all company and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations, and promptly report any safety issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Timely Repairs: Respond to repair and maintenance requests quickly to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, maintenance team, and other departments to complete projects.

  • Equipment Handling: Operate various tools and machinery, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.

  • Manual Reading: Follow instructions from equipment manuals and other technical documents to complete tasks effectively.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Proven experience as a General Worker, Construction Worker, or in a similar role.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal English skills.

  • Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Teamwork: Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion: A deep commitment to animal welfare and FOUR PAWS’ mission and values.
