About the Role:

Pinsent Masons, a top-tier international law firm, is expanding its transactional legal services in Johannesburg. We are currently seeking a Corporate Senior Lawyer with 7+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate on major M&A and corporate finance deals across South Africa and the African continent.

You’ll work alongside leading legal professionals, supporting both South African and international clients across various sectors—particularly in energy and infrastructure. This role demands legal excellence, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of corporate law within both local and cross-border contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead high-value corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and disposals

• Provide strategic legal counsel on corporate finance matters

• Collaborate with local and global legal teams to deliver seamless client service

• Mentor and support junior team members

• Drive innovation and contribute to the continued development of the Corporate practice group

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years PQE with strong corporate/M&A experience

• Background in corporate finance and private equity (preferred)

• Exposure to cross-border transactions (beneficial)

• Previously trained at a leading South African or international law firm

• Deep understanding of corporate market trends in South Africa and the wider region

• Strong communication and project management skills

• A team-oriented mindset with a client-first attitude

• Interest in a global, innovative and agile legal practice
