🚀 Key Responsibilities

🔍 Credit Risk Evaluation:

  • Assess the creditworthiness of commercial clients using financial statements, market intelligence, and industry data.

  • Prepare detailed credit reports and present findings to credit committees.

  • Analyze risk factors and ensure proposals align with ABSA’s risk appetite and policies.

💼 Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor existing credit exposures and recommend action plans for high-risk accounts.

  • Support relationship managers with client engagement and early warning signals.

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date credit records and compliance documentation.

🧠 Strategic Input:

  • Participate in structuring of complex lending transactions.

  • Contribute to improvements in credit assessment models and frameworks.

  • Collaborate with product, legal, and operations teams to ensure seamless deal execution.


✅ Requirements

🎓 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • A postgraduate qualification or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CIMA, CA(SA)) is advantageous.

💼 Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in credit risk analysis or commercial banking.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and business models across industries.

🧩 Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong knowledge of credit legislation, regulations, and lending principles.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
