🧠 Purpose of the Role

Capitec Bank is looking for a seasoned Credit Intelligence Analyst to lead strategic analytics for the Business Banking unit. You’ll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced analytical frameworks and statistical models that drive credit decisions. From guiding junior analysts to spearheading complex data initiatives, your work will directly influence the bank’s credit risk strategies.

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage a full credit intelligence workstream

• Build and maintain predictive and statistical models to support business banking decisions

• Identify, develop, and implement innovative credit intelligence strategies

• Deliver actionable insights through descriptive and diagnostic analytics

• Provide guidance and technical mentorship to junior analysts

• Translate complex data into clear business insights for senior stakeholders

🎓 Qualifications

Minimum Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields

Preferred:

• Honours or Master’s degree in Finance, Applied Statistics, or Quantitative Analytics

💼 Experience

Minimum:

• 4–6 years’ experience in retail credit analysis with strong technical exposure:

  • Programming skills in SQL, SAS, R, or Python

  • Descriptive & diagnostic analytics

  • Statistical modelling

  • Data visualisation

• If holding an Honours degree: 3–5 years of relevant experience is acceptable

Ideal:

• Previous leadership or team lead experience in analytical projects

• Exposure to business banking portfolios

• Experience working within Capitec Bank’s systems or teams
