Role Overview
As Credit Operations Manager, you’ll play a vital leadership role in designing, implementing, and optimizing credit operations within Discovery Bank. This position requires a strategic thinker with operational expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation in the financial services industry.
You’ll manage end-to-end credit functions, oversee performance metrics, and lead a high-performing team to achieve business goals. This is a hands-on, data-driven leadership role ideal for professionals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-evolving banking environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead credit operations, ensuring efficient processes and excellent client experiences.

Oversee credit analysis, risk assessments, data trends, and portfolio management.

Analyze client financials to intervene proactively and drive positive outcomes.

Implement credit policies, monitor KPIs, and take corrective actions when needed.

Drive stakeholder collaboration, regulatory compliance, and policy development.

Lead training, coaching, and performance management for the credit team.

Build an engaged, high-performing team culture aligned to Discovery’s values.

Maintain risk registers and apply continuous improvements to operational controls.

Ensure SLA adherence and client satisfaction in all credit operations functions.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, or Business Management
-
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in credit operations and risk management
-
3–5 years of team management experience

FAIS Accreditation
Preferred:
-
Postgraduate degree (MBL, MBA, or M Comm)
-
Background in loss prevention and risk within banking
Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills

Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Client service orientation and conflict resolution capabilities

Deep understanding of credit risk, compliance, and financial regulations

Proficiency in income/expenditure analysis, financial planning, and bureau reporting
