Role Overview

Hollywoodbets is looking for 2 Creditors Clerks to join our finance team based in Umhlanga, Durban. The role involves accurate cashbook capturing, supplier payment processing, balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting senior financial team members. Key Responsibilities

Ensure all supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments are accurately allocated to the correct supplier account.
Capture valid tax invoices into Pastel Evolution (or similar accounting software) prior to preparing payment requisitions.
Verify VAT numbers via e-filing for all new suppliers.
Confirm that company details appear correctly on invoices as per SARS requirements before processing.
Prepare and process payment requisitions timely, ensuring no delays or penalties occur.
Perform monthly supplier reconciliations, including age analysis, and provide reports to senior financial staff.
Manage supplier queries professionally and escalate complex issues to senior creditors or finance management.
Request and verify BBBEE certificates from suppliers, supporting the company’s Preferential Procurement policies.
Verify supplier banking details directly with suppliers to prevent payment errors.
Maintain petty cash floats and reconcile company credit card transactions.
Prepare monthly reconciliations for prepayment general ledger accounts.
Ensure intercompany transactions and loan accounts are correctly recorded and balanced.
Assist with year-end audits, queries, and preparation of audit files.
Identify and mitigate creditor-related financial risks.
Support Treasury and BEE Transformation consultants where needed.
Innovate and suggest improvements for creditor process automation.
Maintain accurate, logical filing and digital saving of all financial documents and templates.
Participate actively in company projects as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in creditors or accounts payable roles (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Experience with Pastel Evolution or similar accounting software is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of VAT and South African tax compliance.
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
High sense of accountability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach.
