🎯 Purpose of the Role

The Customer Compliance Agent plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, protecting the business against financial crime risks, and ensuring a high standard of customer interaction. The position focuses on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), safer gambling practices, and data protection, while delivering professional and compliant customer service.

This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Maintain professional, courteous, and compliant communication with clients

• Deliver high-quality customer interactions across all approved communication channels

• Use clear verbal and written communication aligned with service and compliance standards

Compliance and AML

• Review client KYC documentation and perform due diligence checks

• Monitor politically exposed persons (PEP) screening and sanctions lists

• Escalate potential matches and suspicious activity timeously

• Monitor unusual online activity and identify indicators of money laundering

• Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for submission to the Nominated Officer

• Review marketing adverts and affiliate sites for compliance with CAP and ASA standards

• Process deposit limit change requests in line with safer gambling policies

• Conduct enhanced due diligence reviews, including Source of Wealth assessments

• Identify customers requiring safer gambling interactions and interventions

• Communicate responsible gaming options to identified clients

• Escalate suspicious transactions and ensure required reports are submitted

• Prepare and manage Data Protection Requests accurately and within timelines

• Handle data erasure requests in line with regulatory requirements

• Adhere to complaints and dispute handling procedures

Administration and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of all customer and compliance interactions

• Escalate unresolved or unclear matters to senior team members

• Ensure confidentiality and independence in all compliance-related matters

• Report directly to the Senior Compliance Team Leader

• Support ad hoc compliance and operational requests

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

• Completed Matric with English

• Computer literacy

• 1–2 years administrative or related experience

• Diploma or Degree in Compliance, AML, Auditing, or related field (advantageous or in progress)
