About the Role:

Medirite Plus, part of the Shoprite Group, is seeking a Customer Service Clerk to join the front shop team at our Daspoort pharmacy in Pretoria. This role is perfect for a motivated individual who thrives in a retail setting and enjoys engaging with customers.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries, assisting with purchases, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience at all times. Your contribution will directly enhance our welcoming, knowledgeable, and solution-driven customer service environment.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

👥 Customer Interaction

• Greet customers with a warm and friendly attitude.

• Assist with inquiries about products, services, and store policies.

• Guide customers on current promotions and loyalty programs.

💳 Sales and Transactions

• Assist in handling transactions, refunds, and exchanges as per policy.

• Promote and register customers for the loyalty programme.

• Ensure accurate use of POS (point-of-sale) systems.

🤝 Team Collaboration

• Work closely with pharmacy and management staff to ensure a smooth customer journey.

• Support the onboarding and training of new front shop staff on procedures and service protocols.

🎓 Minimum Requirements:

📘 Education:

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification – Required

💼 Experience:

• Minimum 1 year in customer service or retail environment – Required

• Experience in a pharmacy front shop – Advantageous

🧠 Skills & Personal Attributes:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Computer literate and familiar with POS systems.

• Friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor.

• Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Willing to learn about health and pharmacy products.

🕒 Working Conditions:

• Retail environment – requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Long periods of standing and light lifting may be required.
