Role Overview

The Customer Technical Specialist Graduate role offers an exciting opportunity for agriculture graduates to gain hands-on field experience while supporting farmers with modern agronomic practices. This role bridges technical expertise and customer engagement by coordinating demonstration trials, collecting field data, and supporting sustainable crop protection initiatives.

Graduates will work closely with farmers, research scientists, and technical sales teams to demonstrate product performance, improve farming outcomes, and contribute to Corteva’s mission of growing what matters.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage demonstration trials with farmers, focusing on crop protection technologies

  • Conduct regular farm visits to assess agricultural practices and identify improvement opportunities

  • Select suitable sites for demonstration planting under relevant pest and disease pressure

  • Support marketing demonstrations related to pest and disease management

  • Assist with gathering and analysing data related to customer feedback and complaints

  • Collect trial data, capture results accurately, and update internal systems

  • Support internal field trials on farmers’ fields in collaboration with research teams

  • Accompany research scientists on off-site field visits when required

  • Assist with stewardship training on Corteva products and safe usage practices

  • Support health, safety, regulatory, and administrative processes


Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma in Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related agricultural field

  • Valid Code B driver’s licence

  • Fluency in English (Afrikaans or other South African languages will be advantageous)

  • Strong understanding of crop cultivation, pest management, and fertilizer application

  • Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight for fieldwork

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
