Role Overview: Cybersecurity Analyst

Aculocity is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen the security posture of its global operations, which include manufacturing, distribution, and software development. You will be part of a cross-functional, international cybersecurity team and play a pivotal role in identifying threats, responding to incidents, and guiding security strategies across continents.

This role is based in South Africa and requires flexible working hours to align with the US-based security operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Threat Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Continuously monitor systems for security alerts and potential vulnerabilities

  • Analyze and respond to incidents in collaboration with security engineers

• Security Infrastructure Support

  • Assist in designing and maintaining cybersecurity tools like firewalls, IDS, and endpoint protection

  • Ensure security solutions meet evolving business needs

• Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work with IT and business leaders to integrate security into company operations

  • Support secure processes across business units and manufacturing environments

• Security Audits & Compliance

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR

  • Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies

• Policy & Procedure Development

  • Help develop, enforce, and maintain organizational security policies

  • Support post-incident analysis and continuous improvement processes

• Training & Awareness

  • Create and lead internal cybersecurity awareness training programs

  • Promote a company-wide culture of cybersecurity mindfulness

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity roles involving monitoring, incident response, and risk mitigation

• Certifications: Highly desirable—CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent

• Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of network and cloud security

  • Proficiency in security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001

  • Experience with threat intelligence, SIEM tools, and security operations

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities

  • Ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
