The Foschini Group (TFG) is seeking a Data Analyst – Credit Optimisation to join its high-performance Financial Services team. Based in Parow East, this role is designed for a driven analytics professional with a passion for predictive modelling and mathematical optimisation. You’ll be solving real-world credit challenges through cutting-edge analytics.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Develop predictive and prescriptive models to support credit risk decision-making

• Design and maintain mathematical optimisation frameworks

• Use statistical methods and data mining techniques to build robust models

• Implement and monitor machine learning solutions for continuous improvement

• Maintain Credit Analytics-Based Tables (ABTs) to enhance model precision

• Leverage both traditional and alternative data sources for strategic insights

• Support deployment and validation of credit strategies

• Present analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders

• Ensure well-documented modelling processes aligned with standards

✅ Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in a data science/analytics role focused on predictive and prescriptive analytics

• Honours or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (preferably with optimisation modules)

• Proficiency in SQL, SAS, R, Python, or FICO Analytics Workbench

• Experience with mathematical optimisation frameworks (e.g., SAS Proc Opt model)

• Solid knowledge of data mining and machine learning techniques: regression, SVM, clustering, decision trees, etc.

• Prior experience in retail credit or financial modelling (advantageous)

• Strong problem-solving, time management, and stakeholder communication skills
