Are you a Data & BI Engineer looking to make an impact in the Logistics sector? AB InBev is seeking a talented individual to join their Tech Logistics Reporting Team based in Bryanston, Johannesburg. This exciting opportunity will see you working across the African Zone, supporting the reporting and business intelligence functions, and partnering with business teams to develop and optimize critical reports and dashboards.
You’ll be responsible for building automated reports, creating insightful data visualizations using Power BI, and driving enhancements to meet evolving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to transform raw data into actionable insights, helping the organization maintain its status as a global leader in logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Reporting & Business Intelligence:
Support existing reporting frameworks and Month-End Global KPI Reporting across multiple countries within the African Zone.
✔️ Automated Reports & Dashboards:
Use Power BI and other reporting tools to design dynamic reports and KPI scorecards. Ensure reports are easy to interpret and meet business needs.
✔️ Database Management:
Utilize SSMS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, and DAX to develop and manage relational databases and multidimensional data models.
✔️ Data Transformation & Integration:
Collaborate with business and technical teams to transform raw data into valuable insights through data modelling and data integration techniques.
✔️ Technical Specifications:
Develop technical specifications from business needs and ensure timely completion of tasks. Create detailed charts and documentation explaining data models and techniques.
✔️ Power BI Security:
Implement row-level security within Power BI to ensure data privacy and compliance with business requirements.
✔️ Business Analysis:
Partner with business teams to gather and understand requirements, helping to translate them into actionable BI reports.

✔️ Analytical Thinking:
Proven ability to convert large datasets into clear, meaningful reports and insights.
✔️ Strong Communication Skills:
Ability to clearly articulate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
✔️ Problem-Solving:
Proven track record of tackling complex data issues, managing ambiguity, and solving problems under pressure.
✔️ Agility & Adaptability:
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where continuous development is key.
✔️ Technical Expertise:
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Python, Databricks, and other reporting and analytics tools. Experience in FMCG Logistics is beneficial.
✔️ Collaboration:
Effective team player with strong collaboration skills, ready to work with global stakeholders to ensure the success of reporting initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
🎓 Education:
- 3-year university degree in Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
🛠️ Experience:
- Advanced proficiency in Reporting and Analytics Technologies such as SQL, Python, Power BI, and Databricks.
- Experience in FMCG logistics and a strong understanding of logistics KPIs are advantageous.
