Key Responsibilities
As a Data Center Technician Intern, your role will include the following responsibilities:
✅ Inventory Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date information in inventory management systems, such as configuration management databases and asset management repositories.
✅ Warranty Claims: Coordinate with suppliers to process failed vendor hardware devices and initiate warranty claims. This involves handling Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices, packaging, shipment, and receipts.
✅ Physical Inventory Tracking: Ensure proper tracking and staging of physical inventory while helping reconcile and report any discrepancies.
✅ Data Destruction: Perform secure destruction of data-bearing devices (DBDs) in compliance with Microsoft policies and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
✅ Compliance with Security Policies: Follow all security and data management policies to protect confidential information.
✅ Collaborative Problem Solving: Work within a team environment to perform tasks efficiently, escalate issues when necessary, and ensure that high-volume work activities are handled effectively.
Qualifications & Skills
To be eligible for this internship, you should meet the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
✅ Educational Requirements: Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in IT, Retail, Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
✅ Language: Fluent in English.
✅ Nationality: Must be a South African National.
Preferred Qualifications:
✅ Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact with others and provide great service in high-pressure situations.
✅ Motivation to Learn: Strong enthusiasm for leading technologies and a passion for continuous learning and growth.
✅ Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen ability to present information clearly.
✅ Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex situations and offer solutions.
