Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Group Data & ML Platform Tribe. You will play a key role in building scalable data solutions that empower our teams to develop insights, drive financial innovation, and optimize business performance.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Data Ingestion & Storage: Build configurable data ingestion platforms, ensuring reliability and cost efficiency.
✅ Data Transformation: Simplify data transformation for SQL users, allowing seamless scheduling and orchestration.
✅ ML & Insights Development: Create tools that accelerate ML model development and insights generation.
✅ Performance & Observability: Implement monitoring tools to track system performance, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
✅ Security & Compliance: Ensure data security through encryption, RBAC, and IAM integrations.
✅ Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Docker & Terraform for scalable deployments.
✅ Technology Decision-Making: Conduct hands-on experimentation and contribute to technical strategy.
✅ Continuous Learning: Engage in upskilling, team knowledge sharing, and innovation.
Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Education:
- Matric (Required)
- National Diploma in IT / Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, or related field (Preferred)
💼 Experience:
- 5+ years as a Data Engineer in a data platform or service engineering team
- 2+ years working with cloud technologies
- Proven track record of impactful data engineering contributions
