About the Opportunity

Clicks Group, through its pharmaceutical distribution division United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD), is seeking a Demand and Supply Planning Manager to join its dynamic team in Roodepoort. This is a key strategic role, reporting directly to the Commercial Executive at our Lea Glen branch.

As a Demand and Supply Planning Manager, you will be responsible for driving collaboration between supply chain stakeholders, aligning customer trends with manufacturer supply strategies, and ensuring product availability in core customer channels. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic operational plans aligned with core customer channels.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers to ensure stock availability and responsiveness to market needs.

  • Standardize supplier negotiations through creation of clear, actionable manifests.

  • Understand and analyse demand trends across branches to ensure optimal product ranges are maintained.

  • Monitor and enhance product availability, infill, and overall margin management.

  • Maintain accurate and clean product data categorization aligned with the MIMS.

  • Track and forecast market and customer demand based on industry trends and data analysis.

  • Compile reports on stock, margin, availability, and performance to drive decisions and corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with operations, regulatory teams, and contact centres to innovate demand fulfilment initiatives.

  • Ensure on-time deliveries in coordination with operations teams.

  • Identify growth opportunities in partnership with suppliers and customers.

  • Coach and develop procurement teams, encouraging career growth and industry knowledge development.


What You’ll Need to Succeed

Educational Requirements:

  • BPharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy)Essential

  • Postgraduate qualification – Preferred

Experience:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a clinical hospital settingPreferred

  • Pharmaceutical industry & buying experienceEssential

  • 3–5 years in key account managementEssential

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical thinking and decision-making abilities

  • Effective planning, report writing, and presentation skills

  • High level of commercial awareness and networking skills

  • Ability to identify and act on opportunities

  • Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel and PowerPoint
