Job Overview
Premier is seeking a Depot Manager to oversee operations at its Mafikeng depot. The role is responsible for ensuring timely and complete delivery of products, managing depot staff, and driving sales growth in the informal market.
The successful candidate will lead logistics, sales coordination, customer engagement, and operational performance while ensuring compliance with company standards and achieving business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure daily delivery of products is completed on time and in full.
- Oversee all depot operations including logistics, sales coordination, and administration.
- Manage and develop depot staff, including performance monitoring and training.
- Drive sales growth and increase market share in the informal sector.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high service levels.
- Manage stock control, asset management, and housekeeping standards.
- Oversee fleet usage, crate control, and vehicle condition.
- Plan and execute supply chain activities to ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, margins, and operational targets.
- Implement and track corporate initiatives such as pricing and route optimisation.
- Conduct audits, compile reports, and present performance insights to management.
- Manage third-party suppliers and ensure service delivery standards are met.
- Handle labour relations, staff scheduling, and workforce planning.
- Promote a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring, and recognition.
Qualifications
Education
- Matric (Grade 12) is required.
- Diploma in Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Computer literacy (MS Excel and MS Word).
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in FMCG, warehousing, or distribution environments.
- Proven experience in managing depot or logistics operations.
- Experience in sales performance management and team leadership.
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
