Job Overview
The Department of Tourism is recruiting an Admin Clerk: Internal Control and Compliance to support compliance, record-keeping, procurement administration, and internal control functions. This entry-level role is ideal for unemployed South Africans seeking exposure to financial compliance, public service administration, and government regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities

Record, organise, store, capture, and retrieve correspondence and data
-
Update registers, statistics, and document tracking systems
-
Handle routine enquiries and general office administration
-
Make photocopies, receive and send documents, and distribute files
-
Maintain filing systems and incoming/outgoing document registers
-
Type letters and official correspondence when required
-
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on procurement matters
-
Obtain quotations and complete procurement documentation
-
Maintain the componentβs asset register
-
Establish and update a secure compliance filing system
-
Archive reports, policy documents, and compliance evidence
-
Maintain audit trails for compliance activities and decisions
-
Ensure documents are easily retrievable for audits

Maintain leave registers and personnel records
-
Handle petty cash administration
Qualifications
Education
-
Grade 12 certificate with Accounting as a passed subject
Experience
-
No prior work experience required
-
Exposure to administrative or financial environments is an advantage

Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Knowledge
