Job Overview

RCL Foods is seeking a dedicated and experienced Despatch Clerk to join its operations team in Vaal, Gauteng. This permanent role is critical in ensuring efficient despatch operations, accurate stock control, and excellent customer service within the manufacturing and logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all trucks are despatched timeously each morning

• Arrange replacement despatch staff when required

• Ensure despatch staff adhere to uniform standards

• Coordinate internal distribution labour when necessary

• Complete despatch reconciliation documents daily

• Maintain accurate records of goods received and despatched

• Promote excellent customer service within the despatch department

• Reconcile daily despatch records and oversee foreman reconciliations

• Verify accuracy of all captured data

• Confirm daily production transfers and returns

• Balance despatch reconciliations with van sales per route

• Count, record, and manage all stock returns

• Monitor stock variances and report discrepancies to management

Qualifications

Education

• Matric / Grade 12

• National Diploma in a related field (advantageous)

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar despatch or logistics role

Skills

• Strong administrative and reconciliation skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Good communication and coordination skills

• Customer service orientation

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
