Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for driving talent management, transformation, and high-performance cultures? Clicks Group is seeking an experienced Divisional HR Manager I (Inland South) to join its HR team at the Regional Office in Roodepoort. This pivotal role reports directly to the National HR Manager (Retail Operations) and plays a crucial part in implementing the HR strategy across retail operations.


About the Role:

As Divisional HR Manager, you will plan, coordinate, and deliver the Retail Operations HR operating plan in alignment with company policies, business objectives, and legal requirements. Your leadership will ensure the attraction, development, and retention of top talent while fostering a culture of excellence and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full talent acquisition process to ensure the right people are in the right roles.

  • Manage onboarding and orientation to ensure seamless employee integration.

  • Oversee the performance management framework to nurture a high-performance culture.

  • Track learning and development initiatives, ensuring impactful employee growth.

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of skilled, empowered talent for current and future business needs.

  • Drive transformation initiatives to achieve diversity and inclusion targets.

  • Manage and resolve employee relations matters in compliance with company policies and labour laws.

  • Coordinate and execute HR projects aligned with the HR calendar and group strategy.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote HR best practices.

  • Oversee budgets and resources to effectively execute the HR operational plan.


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Essential:

    • Comprehensive understanding of labour legislation.

    • HR management best practices.

    • Recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.

    • Strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and people management skills.

    • Project and change management.

  • Desirable:

    • Financial acumen and budgeting.

    • Leadership development and talent management.

    • Presentation and negotiation skills.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    • Essential: 3-year HR degree or equivalent.

    • Desirable: Postgraduate qualification (Honours/Master’s); Chartered SABPP accreditation.

  • Experience:

    • Essential:

      • 5 years in HR management within retail, beauty, or services industries.

      • 5 years generalist HR experience.

      • 3 years’ experience managing a large, multi-site organisation.

      • 3 years dealing with IR and CCMA matters.

    • Desirable:

      • Experience leading union negotiations or bargaining councils.
