About This Opportunity

The Domain Architect: Service Management Systems role is a senior, strategic position responsible for shaping and governing architectural standards across enterprise service management platforms. The role focuses on enabling scalable, reusable, and future-fit solutions that support IT Service Management (ITSM), HR Service Management (HRSM), and related enterprise capabilities.

The Domain Architect will act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, ensuring architectural integrity while driving innovation, automation, and continuous improvement across service management ecosystems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement architectural standards for service management systems

  • Design reusable, scalable architectural components aligned to enterprise strategy

  • Govern integration, design, and process standardisation across service platforms

  • Review and advise on new service management requirements and solution designs

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles and future technology trends

  • Facilitate collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders

  • Translate business requirements into sustainable, fit-for-purpose solutions

  • Identify opportunities for innovation, including automation, AI, and optimisation

  • Support new service implementations, upgrades, and platform enhancements

  • Reduce bespoke development, technical debt, and architectural complexity


Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 6–8 years’ experience in service management systems

  • Minimum 4 years in domain architecture or solution architecture roles

  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise projects and service implementations

  • Experience designing and governing ITSM and HRSM platforms

  • Strong understanding of architectural governance and standardisation

Technical Background

  • Solid technical foundation in engineering, networking, or related disciplines

  • Experience with service management platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, ITSM tools)

  • Architecture-led mindset with focus on principles over specific technologies

  • Strong understanding of systems integration and enterprise platforms


Skills and Competencies

  • Commercial and strategic thinking

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Stakeholder facilitation and workshop leadership

  • Business process modelling (IDEF-0, BPMN, Enterprise Architect, Financial Modelling)

  • Negotiation and influencing skills

  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical ability

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)


Qualifications

Minimum

  • Grade 12 National Certificate or Vocational qualification

Preferred

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems or related field
