About the Role:

Rheinmetall Denel Munition is seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join our innovative product development team. As part of our dynamic environment, you will work on high-tech, safety-critical components and products, primarily for the international defense market. You will play a crucial role in the design and manufacturing of defense technology, collaborating with a team to ensure precise, high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

✔️ 3D CAD Modelling & Drawings: Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using Solid Edge, adhering to BS 8888 and RDM Drawing Standards.
✔️ Drawings Creation: Produce Interface, Layout, General Assembly, Detail, Tooling, Marking, and Packaging Drawings.
✔️ Data Management: Manage all drawings in Teamcenter PLM following the RDM Development & Configuration Procedures.
✔️ Manufacturing Drawings: Assist in designing and developing manufacturing drawings for components and process tooling.
✔️ Conceptual Design & Trade-offs: Participate in conceptual design preparation and trade-off studies for alternative designs.
✔️ Technical Specifications: Interpret technical specifications to provide design inputs for products and subsystems.
✔️ Collaboration: Work as part of a team to achieve identified development milestones and contribute to the overall project success.
✔️ Support: Provide support for marketing and production teams as required.


Qualifications & Experience:

Essential Requirements:

✔️ Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent (NQF5) with 5 years related experience.
✔️ Solid Edge 3D design skills, with knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (Teamcenter preferred).
✔️ Good understanding of GD&T, limits and fits, and manufacturing tolerances.
✔️ Strong experience with engineering materials and component fabrication processes.
✔️ Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and online collaboration tools such as Webex.

Desirable:

✔️ National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent (NQF6) with at least 3 years of related experience.
✔️ Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
