Position Summary

As the Duty Manager at Cape Grace, you will be at the heart of our guest experience, ensuring that every interaction contributes to unforgettable memories. You will lead and guide front-line teams, handle guest concerns proactively, and collaborate across departments to uphold our world-class standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for guest relations, especially during peak dining times such as breakfast and dinner.

  • Manage and resolve guest concerns promptly through tailored recovery plans.

  • Support and guide department managers in enhancing guest experiences.

  • Establish and nurture relationships with travel agents and VIP guests.

  • Coordinate guest interchange and loyalty programmes (ALL – Accor Live Limitless).

  • Drive feedback initiatives including online reviews and in-house guest surveys.

  • Lead LQA (Leading Quality Assurance) audits and implement improvements.

  • Perform regular spot checks on guest-facing areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance.

  • Act as liaison for lost and found in coordination with Security.

  • Promote upselling of rooms, hotel amenities, chauffeur services, and loyalty sign-ups.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Required)

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management (Preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in a 5-star hotel environment

  • Proficient in MS Office and Opera Cloud systems

  • Strong verbal and written English communication; fluency in a second language is an asset

  • Proven abilities in guest satisfaction, team collaboration, conflict resolution, and workflow management

  • Flexible and enthusiastic about leading special projects or initiatives
