Role Summary

The school is seeking a committed Early Childhood Development Teacher to join the Pre-Primary team on a full-time, permanent basis starting 1 January 2025. The teacher will support young learners through a nurturing, child-centred, Reggio-inspired approach. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons for young learners

• Support a Reggio-inspired, child-centred approach to teaching

• Create a warm, nurturing classroom environment that supports active learning

• Model professionalism in conduct, punctuality, and academic expectations

• Continuously evaluate, refine, and reflect on teaching practice

• Participate in school-wide and personal professional development

• Teach extra lessons or extra-murals twice weekly when required

• Prepare high-quality learning materials and resources

• Respond to parent queries within 24 hours

• Maintain high levels of professionalism and loyalty across all school engagements

• Attend school events, parent evenings, and special programmes

• Set, assess, and record learner performance using school-required systems

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of child development and early learning

• Excellent planning, assessment, and preparation skills

• Genuine passion for supporting children holistically

• Minimum 3 years early childhood teaching experience

• Strong digital literacy and confidence integrating ICT in lessons

• Experience in Reggio-inspired environments or top-tier international schools is advantageous

• University degree in Early Childhood Development or related field

• SACE registration required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organisational ability and a growth-oriented mindset

• Valid right to work in South Africa
