Job Description:

Capitec Bank is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven EDC Performance Specialist to join our Business Banking team in Sandton, Gauteng. This role involves managing a portfolio of Electronic Debit Collection (EDC) processes, ensuring optimal recovery strategies, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with the EDC Portfolio Manager to drive improvements in efficiency, productivity, and stakeholder relationships, while helping to shape the recovery strategy of the bank’s debt collection process.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Portfolio & Recovery Management:

• Manage a portfolio of EDCs to ensure optimal debt recoveries through strategic process management.

• Lead the development and implementation of recovery strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce outstanding debt.

• Ensure that all recovery actions comply with the bank’s service level agreements (SLAs) and relevant legislative frameworks, including the National Credit Act (NCA).

✅ Stakeholder Relationship Management:

• Develop and nurture effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including clients, debtors, and business units.

• Influence and guide stakeholders to ensure the continuous improvement of debt collection processes.

✅ Analytical Reporting & Strategy:

• Create and refine analytical models to assess the effectiveness of debt recovery efforts.

• Provide valuable insights to inform the bank’s overall debt collection and risk management strategies.

✅ Compliance & Process Improvement:

• Ensure that the debt collection process complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.

• Continuously seek improvements in operational processes to increase recovery rates and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience:

🔑 Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

• A relevant qualification in Finance or Accounting, with a focus on Financial Accounting.

🔑 Ideal Qualifications:

• Post Graduate Diploma in Finance or Business Management.

🔑 Experience:

• 1-2 years experience in banking or debt collection environments.

• Proven experience in debt collection procedures, stakeholder relationship management, and analytical model development.

Knowledge & Skills:

🔍 Required Knowledge:

• Comprehensive understanding of debt collection processes.

• In-depth knowledge of Credit Risk Management and the Retail Credit Industry.

• Solid grasp of the National Credit Act (NCA).

🛠️ Skills:

• Strong analytical skills to assess performance and inform strategic decisions.

• Interpersonal & Relationship Management skills to foster strong stakeholder engagement.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and attention to detail skills.

• Effective planning, organizing, and coordination abilities to manage multiple tasks.
