OPS 1 DIV 10 is seeking a skilled Edge Bander & Pothole Operator to join our dynamic team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that customer estimations are accurately edged, drilled, and processed according to the highest standards and deadlines, minimizing material wastage and ensuring machinery remains fully operational.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:

  • Deliver fast, reliable customer service.

  • Offer expert advice on product specifications.

  • Resolve product-related queries and complaints promptly.

  • Be available to assist in your area of responsibility and other departments when needed.

• Cutting & Edging Operations:

  • Calibrate and operate cutting, edging, and drilling machinery with precision.

  • Read and interpret cutting lists to ensure accurate processing.

  • Minimize wastage through exact machine settings.

  • Perform daily machinery cleaning and preventive maintenance.

• Housekeeping:

  • Keep your workspace organized and hazard-free.

  • Merchandise stock immediately upon receipt.

  • Complete checklists for canteen and restroom schedules as required.

  • Assist in unpacking and shelving stock as allocated.

• Safety Compliance:

  • Fully adhere to OHSA requirements, ensuring safe use of machinery.

  • Maintain a safe environment for both customers and employees.

  • Merchandise stock safely to prevent accidents.

• Loss Prevention & Security:

  • Monitor and report any suspicious activities.

  • Verify proof of purchase before loading products for customers.

  • Ensure all cutting, edging, and drilling jobs are backed by valid orders/invoices.

Minimum Requirements:

• Educational: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.

• Experience:

  • 2 years of carpentry experience (advantageous).

  • 1 year experience operating cutting, edging, and drilling machinery (advantageous).

• Skills:

  • Strong numerical ability for accurate calculations.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
