🛠️ Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Quality Engineer, your role will cover end-to-end management of electrical Balance of Plant (BOP) and related systems across multiple wind farm projects:

✅ Electrical & Design Coordination

  • Manage electrical interfaces with clients, EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.

  • Oversee project electrical proposal processes, BOQ preparation, and cost estimations for South African and African wind farm bids.

  • Negotiate project scopes and technical specifications, ensuring scope clarity and cost alignment.

✅ Project Engineering & QA/QC

  • Lead QA/QC for engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.

  • Develop project-specific quality documentation including Quality Plans, Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans, and Checklists.

  • Conduct inspections and witness testing for critical substation components like switchgear, UPS systems, transformers, RTCC, MCC panels, and SCADA systems.

  • Ensure all commissioning and site work complies with IMS, safety protocols, and quality standards.

✅ Construction & Commissioning Oversight

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to manage BOP contractors during construction and commissioning.

  • Participate in regular progress and coordination meetings with EPC contractors.

  • Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports, look-ahead programs, and monthly progress summaries for client submissions.


📌 Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 5+ years experience in electrical quality engineering, ideally in wind or renewable energy sectors

  • Strong understanding of electrical plant systems (LV/HV substations, panels, SCADA, battery chargers)

  • Familiarity with IMS and QA/QC methodologies in construction and commissioning

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  • Willingness to travel and work on-site at various project locations in Africa
