🛠️ Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Quality Engineer, your role will cover end-to-end management of electrical Balance of Plant (BOP) and related systems across multiple wind farm projects:
✅ Electrical & Design Coordination

Manage electrical interfaces with clients, EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.

Oversee project electrical proposal processes, BOQ preparation, and cost estimations for South African and African wind farm bids.

Negotiate project scopes and technical specifications, ensuring scope clarity and cost alignment.
✅ Project Engineering & QA/QC

Lead QA/QC for engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.

Develop project-specific quality documentation including Quality Plans, Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans, and Checklists.

Conduct inspections and witness testing for critical substation components like switchgear, UPS systems, transformers, RTCC, MCC panels, and SCADA systems.

Ensure all commissioning and site work complies with IMS, safety protocols, and quality standards.
✅ Construction & Commissioning Oversight

Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to manage BOP contractors during construction and commissioning.

Participate in regular progress and coordination meetings with EPC contractors.

Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports, look-ahead programs, and monthly progress summaries for client submissions.
📌 Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

5+ years experience in electrical quality engineering, ideally in wind or renewable energy sectors

Strong understanding of electrical plant systems (LV/HV substations, panels, SCADA, battery chargers)

Familiarity with IMS and QA/QC methodologies in construction and commissioning

Excellent communication and reporting skills

Willingness to travel and work on-site at various project locations in Africa
