Chart Industries, through Howden Africa Compressors and Turbines, is searching for an experienced Engineer to offer specialized expertise in turbomachinery, vibration measurement, and diagnostics. This critical role supports both internal and external clients, ensuring equipment operates at peak performance. If you have a passion for precision engineering and problem-solving, this opportunity is for you!
Your Key Responsibilities:
✅ Select and evaluate new and existing equipment to ensure it meets user specifications and industry standards.
✅ Create repair procedures and detailed reports for reconditioning equipment.
✅ Review and approve designs, repair plans, drawings, and engineering tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
✅ Provide expert engineering solutions for challenges encountered in the field.
✅ Build and maintain strong client relationships to promote our product range and introduce enhancements.
✅ Supervise the Drawings Office to ensure proper filing and accuracy of technical documents.
✅ Offer in-depth knowledge on plant processes related to Chart’s products, ensuring optimal performance.
✅ Support Project Managers in meeting all engineering requirements for ongoing projects.
✅ Ensure strict adherence to quality procedures and industry standards.
✅ Develop and update engineering documentation, including specifications, design manuals, and welding procedures.
✅ Assist manufacturing teams in material selection, heat treatment processes, and best manufacturing practices.
What You Need to Succeed:
🎓 Education: ✔ Formal tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HND, B-Tech, or BSc).
📌 Experience & Skills: ✔ 10+ years experience in compressors and turbines.
✔ Hands-on expertise in heavy engineering workshop practices.
✔ Advanced knowledge of material selection.
✔ Certified Vibration Analysis (Level 2).
✔ Strong understanding of fatigue analysis.
✔ High-level written communication skills for technical reporting.
✔ Proficiency in compressor & turbine performance evaluation.
