🚀 About the Role:
This is a permanent full-time position based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. As an Engineer Reliability, you will be responsible for ensuring asset integrity is managed throughout the asset lifecycle. Your expertise will drive the reliability, availability, and maintainability of equipment, ensuring operational excellence and safety.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
✔ Develop and maintain systems and processes for asset management ✔ Implement reliability engineering principles to optimize asset lifecycle performance ✔ Ensure adherence to RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) design requirements ✔ Identify and mitigate asset risks related to safety, environmental, and operational factors ✔ Develop total cost of ownership models to improve equipment efficiency ✔ Create and maintain asset care plans, work instructions, and corrective task lists ✔ Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement continuous improvement projects ✔ Provide specialized technical support to improve plant operations ✔ Participate actively in Hillside’s Safety Strategy, identifying hazards and ensuring workplace safety
💼 About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Experience & Skills:
✅ 4 – 6 years’ experience in Heavy Industry/Mining (Mechanical Plant Maintenance)
✅ Experience with mechanical equipment in an industrial setting
✅ 2+ years of experience in Analysis & Improvement (advantageous)
✅ Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & other analytical techniques (preferred)
✅ SAP experience (advantageous)
Educational Requirements:
🎓 Degree / BTech / National Diploma in:
✔ Mechanical Engineering
✔ Electrical Engineering
✔ Industrial Engineering
