Join AECOM as a Geotechnical Engineer in the Enterprise Capabilities unit based in Cape Town, supporting both local and global teams. This position plays a pivotal role in the delivery of high-impact infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate with a dynamic, interdisciplinary engineering team while embracing AECOM’s flexible hybrid work culture.

🌟 Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project execution, client engagement, and business development.

  • Collaborate with Associates and Seniors to ensure high-quality project delivery.

  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.

  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports, drawings, and technical documents.

  • Participate actively in team and client meetings, offering innovative input.

  • Perform geotechnical analyses including:

    • Settlement analysis

    • Retaining wall design

    • Foundation (shallow and deep) design

    • Earthworks and slope stability analysis

  • Utilize geotechnical software such as GEO5, WALLAP, ALP, Plaxis, and SlopeW/Slide.

  • Stay abreast of modern design codes and adopt best practices, especially Eurocodes.

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.

  • 4–7 years of relevant geotechnical design experience.

  • Nearing Professional Registration (ECSA or equivalent) preferred.
