Mediclinic Medforum, located in Sunnyside, Pretoria, South Africa, is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to join its dynamic Surgical ICU team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a world-class healthcare facility that is committed to excellence in patient care.

About the Role:
As an Enrolled Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), your main purpose is to deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in accordance with your scope of practice. You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering comprehensive and compassionate nursing care in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team.

• Identifying, preventing, and reporting risks to maintain a high standard of patient safety.

• Facilitating a positive patient experience by creating a supportive and healing environment.

• Ensuring accurate documentation and records of all nursing interventions.

• Promoting a learning culture that enhances staff competence and continuous development.

• Managing stock and equipment responsibly and ensuring accurate billing for all utilized resources.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Essential: Enrolled Nurse Certificate (Registered with the South African Nursing Council).

• Desirable: CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses relevant to the Surgical ICU or specialized ward nursing.

• Experience:

  • Essential: No minimum experience required.

  • Desirable: 1 year of post-qualification experience, preferably in a specialized unit like ICU.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) training.

• Knowledge of infection prevention and control measures.

• Understanding of pharmacology principles.

• Strong grasp of scientific nursing principles and the nursing process.

• Patient assessment and nursing care planning skills.

• Ability to identify and manage clinical risks effectively.

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office proficiency).

• Familiarity with relevant nursing legislation and protocols.
